The lycanthrope race, those that are werecreatures, are taken from the world of Anita Blake. Click HERE for more information on this series. Much of what is listed below is from this site. Below is how the lycanthrope race pertains to this RP site. Please read and ask if you have any questions.
All Lycanthropes
• Though they have the ability to shift to their animal form whenever they wish, the moon's call forces lycanthropes to shift
• If the lycanthrope is new or young, or it is too close to the full moon, the scent of fresh blood can cause them to shift to their animal form.
• After shifting, they are hungry and must eat.
• Humans are infected by coming into blood contact with other lycanthropes in animal form or are born with it (inherited form).
• Silver burns them, and injuries made with silver heal very slowly. Silver bullets can kill them.
• They cannot get infections, though severe blood loss can be an issue. All wounds will eventually heal.
• They have great healing abilities, amazing speed and strength as well as heightened senses.
• They are immortal.
• If they lose a limb, it will grow back with the next animal shift as long as the wound remains fresh.
• Alphas are the leaders of the respective groups. They are typically stronger and often have abilities and powers that the others do not.
• As such, alphas may pick a power from the list to have. They will have decent control of it, more so if they use it often.
• Lycans coming into alpha status can be gaining a power. With these character types though, the lycan will have little to no control over the power and must work VERY hard at it.
• When a low-powered were shifts form from human to beast to human again in a short space of time (under 2 hours) they crash, taking many hours (12) to re-charge as it takes a lot of energy to shift back early. While they are recovering, they cannot be woken up
• Weres usually stay in their beast form for 8-10 hours before they collapse back into their human selves.

Werewolves The Lukoi - the name used by the werewolf pack to describe themselves -
[/center] Each Lukoi pack has a special place of power called the Lupanar. During the full moon the pack assembles there and celebrates by shifting into their animal forms and hunting. The Lupanar is their primary gathering place, where meetings are held, traditions observed, formal challenges are made and succession fights are held. Each Lupanar is distinctive depending on the terrain and the pack personality. The Lupanar is also sacred ground, a place of magic, tradition. Pack standing is established by being dominant over other wolves. Dominance is established by challenging and either fighting or backing down other pack members. Dominance fights are rarely to the death and sometimes are psychological battles. If the werewolf being challenged does not wish to fight, they simply acknowledge the challenger's dominance and the confrontation is over. The victor rises in rank and assumes the spot vacated by the defeated. To ask for protection, a wolf can petition a dominant by brushing up against the dominant. If it is granted, the dominant will touch the submissive which then signals to any other lycanthropes in the area that he or she will protect that petitioner from their enemies/pursuers. When a werewolf asks someone for protection they are admitting the other is dominant to them. If the wolf is given this protection, they are in effect fully under the command of the person giving the protection. All other wolves will either simply acknowledge this protection and move on, or challenge the protection. Packs usually appoint sponsors to new wolves to teach them about the change, control, and how to walk successfully in the two cultures. Normally the sponsor will teach new wolves about sex as a Lukoi. In some cases if the sponsor is unable or unwilling, the Eros or Eranthe may be assigned to act as sexual surrogates. Sex or in some circumstances lust, can release the beast against the will of the Lukoi. Which is why it’s been referred to as the "Killing Dance". Sex with humans can result in their death when at the moment of orgasm the wolf shifts and tears their partner apart. Older wolves can control and resist this, however not shifting during sex among wolves is considered holding back and is almost like saying it wasn't THAT good. Ranks:Omega Beta Alpha Positions:Ulfric (Leader): - Position OpenLupa (Mate of Leader): - Position OpenGeri (Second-in-Command): - Position OpenSkoll (Primary Enforcer): - Position OpenHati (Secondary Enforcer): - Position OpenEros/Eranthe (the persons in a pack entrusted with teaching newly infected wolves how to control their strength and beasts during sexual intercourse): - Position Open // - Position Open[/blockquote]

Wereleopards The Pard
The group is known as a pard. It is a less formal structure than that of the wolves, though they do share some common greetings and courtesies with the wolves. The cat lycanthropy virus is difficult to catch. That is one of the reasons that the groups are so small. Many of the wolf traits are the same with the leopards.
To ask for protection, a leopard can petition a dominant by brushing up against the dominant. If it is granted, the dominant will touch the submissive which then signals to any other lycanthropes in the area that he or she will protect that petitioner from their enemies/pursuers. When a wereleopard asks someone for protection they are admitting the other is dominant to them. If the leopard is given this protection, they are in effect fully under the command of the person giving the protection. All other leopards will either simply acknowledge this protection and move on, or challenge the protection.
The pard does not have their own place where they meet in the wild. Most of the leopards live together under the roof of their Nimir-Raj and Nimir-Ra.
Ranks: Omega Beta Alpha
Positions: Nimir-Raj (male leader) - Zain Carvator Nimir-Ra (female leader/mate to Nimir-Raj) - Holly Ambler
These are rare, but are destined to be each other’s mate. Not all pards have them.
“You are my Nimir-Ra, and I am your Nimir-Raj… We are a mated pair… Its legend among the leopards that you can find your perfect mate, and from the first moment you have sex you’re bound, more than marriage, more than law. We will always crave each other. Our souls will always call to each other. Our beasts will always hunt together.”
